Our professional instructors in dance, music, and culture are passionate individuals who possess a wealth of knowledge and expertise in their respective fields. These dedicated professionals have spent years honing their craft and are committed to sharing their skills and wisdom with our students. From dance instructors who can teach a variety of styles like Latin Folklore, Latin Hip-Hop, and salsa, to music instructors skilled in instruments like congas, timbal, bongoes, and choral foundations, they have the ability to inspire and guide students on their artistic journey. Moreover, our instructors and co-founders play a vital role in preserving and promoting the rich heritage of different cultures through language lessons, traditional arts, and historical insights. Their friendly and patient approach, combined with their creativity and intelligence, make them invaluable assets in fostering a love and appreciation for dance, music, and culture in our foundation. Angela Reyes

Co-Founder & Choir Instructor

Ángela Reyes was born in Colombia and immigrated to the United States of America in the year 2000. Ángela has been performing since she was 8 years old and toured the country with a Salsa Band and her father's trio at the young age of 15.

She studied Flute Performance in 1996 and was part of multiple Jazz and Band Ensembles, as well as many local choirs. She appeared in multiple tv shows, and has performed for all sorts of audiences! She has more than two decades of experience as a singer and performer. As an artist, Ángela has worked as a voice-over artist for many years, and her voice can be recognized in multiple commercials and videos. As a performer, she has performed with her family's trio and Latin bands at several festivals, and gatherings. She also has performed with Christian songwriter and music producer Jenny Phillips. Soon after, in 2008, Ángela became a Kindermusik Licensed Instructor and taught the Kindermusik method for several years. As a director, she created and named the "Crescendo Choir" at Falcon Ridge Elementary which is currently running as a choir for K-6 students. She was also in charge of creating "The Little Patriots Choir" where she volunteered for 5 years. For the past 10 years, Ángela delightfully worked as a Children's Theater Director where she made many memories. She is excited to bring all of her expertise to the first-ever Children's Choir in Herriman where children will thrive in a non-competitive environment, and where the growth of the child's self-esteem is her first and foremost priority. Ángela is the wife of an Army Veteran and mother of 4 children. She graduated with a Bachelor's in Music Production & Engineering from Berklee College of Music and studied vocal performance with great singers and performers such as Jeanine Gagné, R&B Singer Darcel Wilson, and Gabrielle Goodman. She also holds a Certificate of Choral Conducting from the University of Michigan. She's currently pursuing an MBA through the University of Utah. Go Utes!

Melissa Reynosa

Melissa has been making a difference in the community for several years. she serves as the theater director for a local charter school and has lots of experince in productions.

Roy Bosch

Program Assistant Director

Roy Bosch was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and his first steps in music were classical and salsa. In his teens, he experimented with Venezuelan and Caribbean rhythms.

Roy formed part of the Blue Springs Marching Band of Blue Springs, Missouri, where he competed at a regional and national level in the United States and in the percussion ensemble Blue Springs Drumline with whom he participated in WGI, a worldwide percussion competition. In addition, Roy participated in jazz competitions. He shared the stage with artists and bands from different genres, including the Tabaco y Ron orchestra, David Archuleta, Monchy y Alexandra, Tony Vega, Mauro Mosquera, One Voice Children's Choir, Alesi Diaz, and Patty Padilla, among others. Roy lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, and co-founded Alex Melecio's band. Roy is also the lead percussionist for Orquesta Latino and is a Tycoon Percussion regional artist.

Diego Vargas

Percusión Latina Instructor

Meet Diego Armando Vargas Herrera, a Colombian percussionist renowned for his exceptional Latin flavor and captivating rhythms that inspire both musicians and listeners alike. With his precision, style, and

unique techniques, he has mastered a wide variety of percussion instruments, making him an indispensable figure in the music industry. Diego's love for music began when he was just four years old, watching his father rehearse with the "Vieja Guardia" orchestra. Not only is he an accomplished musician, but he is also a skilled teacher of percussion, having taught at "Mi Estudio Producciones" in Cali and provided private lessons to numerous students who admire his talent and want to learn his techniques and musical expression. Diego's reputation grew quickly, and he began to teach percussion workshops at "Olimpo Estudio," "JA Backline," and the House of Culture in Pereira. He has helped nurture the talents of young musicians and taught those with no musical knowledge, sharing his passion for rhythm and music with others. For Diego, music is not just a form of art, but a way to express emotions and desires. He shapes silence, thrilling his audience with his exceptional talent. Diego's ultimate goal is to give back by teaching others what he knows and leaving a lasting legacy in their lives because "he who does not live to serve, does not serve to live.”

Gustavo Montero

Percusión Latina Instructor

Gustavo's biggest passion is music. He spends a lot of his time doing this. He is constantly learning more about that world of possibility that music offers him, and his dream is to dedicate himself 24/7 to this art.

He started in music when he was three years old. At that time, he stepped on a stage for the first time; he discovered that music had to be part of his life. He has been in several groups and different genres, music from his country, Latin America, and various parts of the world. He participated in festivals and was honored to receive the recognition that always motivated him to continue. He arrived in Utah 7 years ago and brought all that desire and knowledge to continue with his mission of making music and teaching the little ones; that’s when “Montero Music School” was born, a program to bring art closer to children and young people in this great state. His goal is for them to learn about art, its history, its anecdotes, and its execution. Every day, he is building more possibilities within a community that wants to know more about Latino Culture.

Jorge Garcia

Choreographer & Dance Instructor

Even though he is passionate about choreography and International Folklore, Jorge Garcia has a sports degree from the National Pedagogical University of Colombia. He was also a cheerleading coach for 11 years and an athlete for 13 years.

He was part of the Colombian cheer team in 2014 and 2016, where he got to travel around the world. Jorge is also a choreographer with more than 10 years of experience and has captivated a big audience as a Zumba instructor. He was also the official choreographer for the Association of Colombians Abroad (ASOCOEX) in 2021. He is currently the choreographer of the Barranquilla Utah USA Carnival. This traveling dancing company gets to travel out of state for different festivals that promote the enrichment and preservation of Latino Culture in the United States.
